New Delhi / Mumbai, March 10, 2015: PNB MetLife India Insurance Co. Ltd. (PNB MetLife) announced the launch of multiple initiatives to promote gender diversity celebrating World Women’s Week. In addition to announcing special initiatives for women employees of PNB MetLife, the Company has also kicked off a six month programme to organize special workshops on financial planning and stress management for women employees of their corporate clients. The D&I Council constituted in 2014 at PNB MetLife has been successful in establishing the framework for D&I with three pillars of support: strong management commitment, initiatives focused at women’s development and creating enablers and environment to make PNB MetLife an inclusive and diverse work place.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tarun Chugh, MD & CEO, PNB MetLife said, “I believe that Gender Diversity is an important part of D&I strategy for any organization in India. We have launched our D&I programme last year and have come a long way since. In 2015, we will continue to focus on gender diversity to retain and improve the ratio of women talent across the levels. To commemorate Woman’s Day, PNB MetLife has launched a host of exciting initiatives to recognize women employees and sensitize their managers. The company announced the launch of an Education Assistance Policy, which provides a scholarship fund for women employees from PNB MetLife to help them take on courses of their choice. To encourage women employees to learn self-defense and be in a position to protect themselves, the organization will reimburse the course cost for the first 25 women who enroll for the same. The company is running a poll where employees give suggestions on how to make PNB MetLife an employer of choice for women. The idea is to implement some of the top ideas chosen by an expert panel. Discount programme with hospitals for women employees along with health and wellness sessions by eminent doctors have been introduced with sessions kicked off across branches. A specialized training programme on D&I has been launched to help employees understand and be a part of this journey.

The company has also kicked off six month workshops for women employees of their corporate group insurance clients. From financial planning, estate planning and understanding various provisions of the MWPA Act to stress management with specialists, the company genuinely hopes to make a difference for women employees even outside the organization.
