Taneesha Singh lifts twin trophies in girls U-11 & U-13; Sonali and Siddharth victorious in under-17 finals of PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship-Season 2 Lucknow

Lucknow, February 19, 2016: PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship Season 2 Lucknow Finals were concluded today at the Mini Sport Stadium, Gomti Nagar with adrenaline-pumping performances from young talented shuttlers.

In Boys Singles U-17 category, Siddharth Mishra from BBD UP Badminton Academy displayed control and determination by defeating Rajan Yadav in a nail-biting encounter and lifting the trophy with scores 25-23, 16-21, 21-13.

In Girls Singles U-15 category, Shruti Mishra defeated Sonali Dubey to emerge victorious with scores 19-21, 21-19, 21-18.

In Girls Singles U-17 category, the same duo started the finals battle and Sonali Dubey was announced the winner after Shruti could not play further because of health reasons.

In Boys Singles U-15 category, Abhinn Vasisht clenched the finals match by beating Prateek Srivastava with scores 21-14, 21-15.

Taneesha Singh from BBD UPBA displayed top skills and lifted twin trophies in Girls Singles U-11 & U-13 categories. Taneesha defeated Shivani Chodrey (21-6, 21-8) in under-11 finals & defeated Khushi Pant (21-13, 14-21, 21-19).

The tournament was organized by Sara Foundation (An organisation for the promotion of sports).  PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship has been approved by Badminton Association of India (BAI).
