Women in Leadership
MetLife’s focus on women ties to our core strategy. Women are a major, global, economic force accounting for an increasing portion of financial and healthcare spending decisions, so building a workplace that reflects our customer base is critical. We work to understand and incorporate women’s needs and values as customers.

To this end, women represent a huge opportunity for MetLife to access the talent that it needs to succeed. The company takes a layered approach to engage and develop women to take on broader leadership roles. For example, the company’s Global Women’s Initiative forges connections through 26 women’s business networks made up of employees around the globe. MetLife fortifies its pipeline with a 14-month “Developing Women’s Career Experience” program to strengthen the readiness of emerging women leaders for senior positions. And, its Global Women’s Leadership Forum brings together the company’s top 70 women, who serve as ambassadors for the Initiative, reaching back through the pipeline to bring others along.
