Employees of PNB MetLife volunteer at the CRY project on child protection and development

 Kolkata, November 5, 2015: This festive season, employees of PNB MetLife decided to celebrate differently by volunteering to paint the community and activity centers of Sanlaap, an NGO working in the area of child protection and development under guidance of CRY, Child Rights & You. The employees were encouraged in this endeavor by Mr. Manas Ranjan Biswal, Field General Manager, Kolkata FGMO, Punjab National Bank. 

Motivating the employees Mr. Manas Ranjan Biswal, Field General Manager, Kolkata FGMO, Punjab National Bank said, “I am delighted to be here today and be a part of this exciting activity with the PNB MetLife employees, who have taken a day away from work to help the local community. It’s a great job that NGOs like CRY do to protect the future of the children and our society and I applaud them.”

As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program, PNB MetLife has instituted an employee volunteering policy where there employees can take three days off in a year to work with the local communities.* CRY, Child Rights & You has partnered with Sanlaap, non-governmental organization (NGO) since 2012 to address the violations of Child Protection issue by shaping interventions both from the Preventive and Restorative approach at the Source and Destination areas. On one hand CRY, Child Rights & You helps Sanlaap design programmes to address the vulnerabilities of children at the high prevalent districts, red light areas through creation of safety nets by undertaking processes of enrolment, retention in schools, working on the Life Skills of children for facilitating informed choices. And on the other hand through empirical data collection they undertake advocacy with the Government system for effective implementation of schemes and Policies to address the issue.
